Pippin
It was about one year ago when we adopted Pippin. At the time we were thanked by a BARC employee for adopting a 'problem cat'. "Umm I'm sorry, what was that last thing you just said?" At that time, we didn't quite know what that meant. One year on now, we can resolutely say that Pippin has completely won our hearts, our love and has firmly earned a seat at our family 'table' along with Mama (our 2008 Barc adoptee).
Pippin and Mama are very much like the 'Odd Couple': Mama is loving/caring (like her name implies) gentle in her ways; Pippin is a little rascal, jumping into closets (top shelf, no less) chasing Mama and eating our food. Yet, on certain days and if we're quiet, we can sometimes catch them sleeping next to one another.
Pippin is 8 years on, but don't tell her that. She still runs around as though she were a kitten. Yet, Pippin has a gentle tender side that she has showed us that had initially remained hidden; perhaps not wanting to get too close to us for fear of being abandoned yet again.
One year ago, when we had adopted Pippin, we were told we would be her 3rd owner/protector in her brief 8 years. "3rd?!" Well, while no cat (or person) is perfect, we feel any perceived faults seen in her are more a reflection of the previous owners than of her. So we can say with extreme confidence that Pippin has indeed won our hearts, is very well-loved....and, that her, now, 3rd owners will most certainly be her last. Thank you BARC for introducing us to Pippin (and Mama). "Pippin? No problem."
About BARC
Happy Tails
It has been over 6 months since we adopted Mama. She is absolutely terrific. When we first found her at BARC we had no idea the level of affection she had, social personality and talkativeness (a good thing).
