Here's a great example of the dog/cat peace process! Ren, the cat and Stimpy the Chihuahua, were abandoned at BARC in the same carrier. Ren is very friendly, but you have to make friends with Stimpy first because she's very protective of her feline pal. They are so attached to one another that they must be adopted together. |

Archie is a skinny little guy who was found on the street. He has tons of personality. He's obviously starved for both food and affection, though his playfulness sometimes turns feisty. He would make a great second cat. |

If you like cats with presence, Salem will knock your socks off! He was found at the New Lots subway station and is hoping to make his final stop a loving, permanent home. He is just as sweet and playful as he is handsome, and especially loves rolling around in catnip. |

Friendly, cute and playful, Marley appears to be a former housecat who fell on hard times because he was found wandering the streets. This good-natured boy would make a wonderful first-time cat and appears to get along with other cats. |

Skittles and his brother, Licorice, were dumped in a carrier at BARC. These youngsters are playful, sweet and mellow, and show their devotion to each other with frequent grooming and snuggling. They need to be adopted together. |

Brownie was brought to BARC by kind sanatiation workers who were taking care of her. She is definitely a house cat who has fallen on hard times on the streets. She is declawed and a bit overweight. She also "talks" loudly about her situation, which is a common trait of Siamese cats. She also loves to be held, so if you're looking for a lap cat, she's your girl! |

Kitty was surrendered to BARC due to her person's allergies. She is a lovely, sweet cat, who spends most of her time huddled at the back of her cage, a sure sign of depression (abandoned cats usually have a more difficult time adapting to shelter life than cats that come from the street.) We're sure she'll be very grateful for a second chance at a happy home life and will thank you with lots of cuddles and purrs. |

Polar Bear was surrendered to BARC with her coat severely matted. She wants to return to her happy life as a pampered housecat. Her long coat will require regular grooming to prevent future matting. |

Campbell loves to talk! He is an outgoing, loving male who likes to play and speak his mind. He wants to have a heart-to-heart with you about giving him a permanent home. He does well with other cats. |

Scarlet was abandoned in an apartment an building when the occupant disappeared. She was alone for weeks without enough food or water until the super went in and found her. Good Samaritans took her in for a while, but couldn't keep her. Scarlet craves affection, and loves to curl up in the lap of anyone who sits down for a visit. She also protests mightily when it's time to return her to her cage. Why don't you give this girl a permanent lap to sit on? |

Jack is a super-nice guy who loves attention. He is declawed, and needs to be on a special diet to treat his urinary tract issues. He would also do best as an only cat because he refuses to share his litter box with anyone else. |

Eugene is a great, big, beautiful lad who was found wandering the streets. He's extremely people-friendly, and will give you kissees if you pet him. He loves to play, but he doesn't like other cats, so he needs to be a solo pet. |

Daisy is a cute, fashionable kitty with markings that make her look as if she has bangs. She likes to run and play with toys, and if you sit next to her, she'll hop onto your lap. Daisy has had a rough life-she lost her first home when her owners moved out and left her behind; then, she lost her second home due to a fire. When she first came to BARC, she had a feisty streak, but she's blossomed into a loving, playful girl who's ready for another chance. |
