ROXIE
We adopted Roxie in September of 1999. She had been hit by a car and mauled by some dogs from a junkyard before she arrived at BARC. But she soon recovered and went on to lead a long and healthy life.
MERLIN (formerly Rowlff)
This shy old guy totally charmed me with his big, round eyes. When I visited him at the BARC cat loft, he let me pet his head but mostly stayed in the back of the cage. True to form, he hid under the bed for a few weeks but is now best friends with my 8-year-old cat, Nermal.
Links
We call Links the happiness multiplier because he takes the ambient happiness in the house and doubles or triples it.
MOXIE
Thank you so much for bringing my dog into my life--BARC is my favorite rescue organization!
Buffy
Buffy is sweet, affectionate and has brought great joy into my life.
Nails
We couldn't imagine how our lives would be without this sweet pit-bull mix!
Sasha & Simba
I can’t brush my hair without Sasha grabbing the brush with his paw and pulling it over to his head so he can be brushed, too!
Carter
Carter has brought us nothing but happiness!
SALLY
Sally loves everyone and everyone loves her. Our friends and family can't get enough of her, even though she loses her mind when visitors come to the apartment and needs a little time to calm down.
Dolly & Oscar
These 2 BARCsters were adopted by neighbors in Brooklyn and are BFFs!
About BARC
Happy Tails
Dear BARC —This is our happy ending story. I wanted a kitty, BAD. My boyfriend promised to adopt one for me for X-mas. By March I decided enough was enough and dragged him down to BARC. There were 2 kittens there that day, one was already spoken for. We met the other guy, he was known then as JIM CAREY.
